About Short Creek
Short Creek History

Statement of Faith
We affirm the Holy Bible as the divinely inspired Word of God and the foundation of our beliefs. This church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith and Message as restated by the Southern Baptist Convention in the year 2000. We voluntarily band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. The ordinances of the church are the Believer's Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
The mission purpose of Short Creek Baptist Church is to worship, proclaim, and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to carry out the Great Commission by teaching and discipling new believers.

Pastor Profile

Pastor Steve Puckett came to know the Lord as his Savior November 4, 1980. He has held several positions in the church including treasurer, deacon, Sunday School teacher, and song leader before he became a Bi-Vocational pastor.
He was called into the ministry in a revival service in July 1980. He pastored at Snow Hill Baptist Church in Smithville, TN for 21 ½ years. He has currently been at Short Creek Baptist Church for 7 years.
He has been married to Vickie for 46 years. They have one daughter, son in law, and one grandchild.
Steve and Vickie have been involved in a mission work in Ducktown, TN at the Copper Basin Crisis Center for 19 years. They do a coats, hats, scarves, gloves giveaway in November and they give Christmas meals away in December. This is only possible by the generous giving from several different people. They also have a passion for Vacation Bible School.
He loves studying God’s word, teaching, gardening and just being outside doing anything.
